About Us

What is digital printing?

Digital print means affordable short run printing. This allows us to print very small, medium and large runs quantities, quickly, cost-effectively - always at high quality. This can elimate the need for our customer to carry large stocks of print material, and it also ensures your company information is kept up-to-date.

The sheer efficiency of the digital process also means most jobs can be "turn-around" very quickly... usually within 24-48 hours. Digital makes it very easy for you to update your artwork each time you go to print, thus ensuring your marketplace message is always kept current and fresh!

HP Indigo Press 5 Colour 5000

At Ocean Digital Printing, we have stayed at the forefront of digital
printing, when recently we commissioned our 3rd Indigo - the 5 colour
HP Indigo press 5000. This is the lastest in technology in the
electronic offset 4 colour plus digi matt (matt varnish) printing
process, that combines high-performance digital imaging, with a liquid
instant drying ink, which allows us the flexibility of quick turnaround
from 50 to 500 A3’s sheets with the top-end quality of offset printing.
Without the use of water dampers this gives us a better environmental
printing process - which is ideal for all of us.

Unlike conventional offset printing, this method is from computer to
press, creating a different image with each revolution of the printing
blanket - without the use of film separations and metal plates. This
allows us to print in collated form for book work and variable data
with one pass through the press, and printed on both sides of the
paper. We can also print variable data - eg. barcodes, names, addresses and even photo images from an Excel file.

Heidelberg DI

Ocean Digital printing is also proud to introduce our Direct-Imaging
(DI) press, which is the lastest in state-of-the-art technology -
providing cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly benefits to our
customers. Here is a brief list of the advantages which are available
to you.

Speed: "Print on Demand" and "Computer to Press" - This cuts out
several processes, eg: film and plates - all with the speed of a
conventional press - from 500 to 20,000 A3’s sheets - at the blink of
an eye.

Quality: The Heidelberg DI offers a razor-sharp print in gloss,
satin and bond paper - just as you are accustomed to in standard offset
printing, only more defined.

Environmental Protection: The waterless offset direct-imaging
process requires neither chemical developers for processing film or
plates, nor toners or solvents as in traditional offset printing.
Therefore, we are actively contributing towards environmental
responsibility.
